Rostov NPP: construction of power unit No. 3 is carried out in conformance with the schedule

At Rostov NPP (Volgodonsk, Rostov region) regular meeting of administration on construction of power units No. 3 and 4 was held at which results of the past month were summed up and tasks for the II quarter of the current year were determined.

Construction of the third power unit is carried out for 7 months. According to chief of staff – director of JSC «NIAEP» Valery Limarenko, in spite of unfavorable weather conditions in winter, when it was impossible to lay concrete, works are carried out in accordance with the schedule. «In May we reach the level of 10.8 meters», – reported Valery Limarenko.
In the course of work of the administration, the participants considered matters of equipment supply in 2010-2012. as head of the construction, first deputy director of JSC «NIAEP» on construction of power unit No. 3 of Rostov NPP – administrator of Volgodonsk representation Vyacheslav Makhonon stated, terms of supply of reactor vessel, pressure equalizer and accumulator of SAOZ from plant «Atommash» in Volgodonsk are already coordinated.
In the framework of provision of mechanization scheme of power unit No. 3, mounting of crane СКР 3500, works are also performed on arrangement of crane runway for two cranes БК 1000.
In the II quarter of the current year, main building and assembly works in reactor, machinery and deaerating departments will be carried out by contractual organizations «SMU-1» and «Trest RosSEM».
«April is the time when during planning of works dates rather than month should be named. Only complete observance of schedule will allow to commission the object in time» – summarized result of work of the administration director of JSC «NIAEP» Valery Limarenko.
Now at site of power unit No. 3 of Rostov NPP 34 contractual organizations or more than 2000 people work.
Volgodonsk (Rostov) NPP is branch of JSC «Concern Rosenergoatom». The nuclear power plant is located on the bank of Tsimlyansk water storage 13.5 km away from Volgodonsk. On power unit No.1 put into industrial operation in 2001, VVER-1000 type reactor is operated with designed electric output of 1000 MW. In December of 2009 first criticality of power unit No. 2 with the same type reactor was carried out. At power unit No. 2 program of energy startup and reaching of capacity. Construction of power units No. 3, 4 is started.
