The construction of the power plant is now in an active phase. During the winter transport season, all the necessary construction supplies were brought to the object. Currently NG-Energo, which won TNK-BP’s tender, is conducting assembly and start-up work.
The group of fields at the Uvat project is far removed from electricity infrastructure and therefore energy at the Urnenskoe and Ust-Tegusskoe oil fields has been generated using diesel plants. A 45 MW gas-turbine power plant will be built in order to cover the energy demands of the existing infrastructure at the Ust-Tergusskoe field. The first phase of the project will be commissioned in Q4 2010.
The gas-turbine power plant will be fueled by associated gas, which will be separated from crude during the extraction process at the central gathering facility.
The second stage of the gas-turbine power plant, with a capacity of 20—25 MW, is planned for 2011. It will be commissioned in 2012 and will cover the growing electricity demands at the Urnenskoe and Ust-Tegusskoe oil fields and will use up to 95 percent of the associated gas produced at the fields.
