The new power plants will be built in 2010 at the Ust-Tegusskoye field of the Uvat project in the Tyumen region (first stage), the Van-Eganskoye field in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district (two stages) and the Verkhnechonskoye field in the Irkutsk region (second stage).
In 2011, the second stage of a 25 MW gas turbine power plant is planned for commission at the Kamennoye field in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district, while in 2012 the third stage of a 64 MW power plant is planned at the Verkhnechonskoye field (the company has announced a tender to supply generating equipment for it).
“According to our calculations, in the coming years in-house power supply is going to become more economically effective than buying energy on the market. And this is without calculating the effect of utilizing associated petroleum gas. TNK-BP plans to invest around $300 mln in power plant construction through 2010—2012. The energy will be used exclusively to power oil and gas production sites. This will help maintain the rate of developing fields”, — said Pavel Strunilin, Vice President, Power Supply, TNK-BP.
