TNK-BP to hold Emergency Rescue Exercise at Samotlorneftegaz Field

The main objective of the exercise, which will involve oil production operators, an accident response team, two firefighting units and field medics, is to contain and eliminate an emergency oil spill.
The oilmen will have to try to prevent the possible ignition of the oil and administer first aid to injured colleagues.
“A commission will assess how promptly and correctly the participants react, as well as their coordination and teamwork. I’m confident that our emergency rescue team, which has received inter-departmental certification, will display their best skills and abilities”, said Pavel Ivasishin, Director of Samotlorneftegaz’s Health and Safety Department.
