A new longwall block launched at "Khakasskaya" mine

Июня 02, 2010

"Khakasskaya" Mine (OOO SUEK-Khakassia) started mining coal from a new longwall block (No. 46) of Velikan-II coal seam. Longwall block No. 46 reserves amount to nearly 1,400,000 tonnes of D-grade power-generating coal.

The production team led by Vadim Bednyakov exctracts the coal using a К500Ю shearer.
""The Khakasskaya" Mine team mined out the previous coal block on schedule and managed to reinstall the equipment in a new long wall block ahead of the schedule - within 36 days," observed Alexey Keelin, General Director, OOO SUEK-Khakassia. The width of the new block is 242 metres, the 0.6 metre augers of the shearer were replaced by longer 0.8 metre ones to raise productivity - this helped to increase the coal yield ripped in one slice from 450 tonnes to 600 tonnes.
The new long wall block is to be completely extracted in approximately one year.
