Gas agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey

The documents package regulating the sale of Azerbaijan gas to Turkey and its transportation to the European markets through the territory of Turkey has been signed in the presence of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Rajab Tayyib Erdoghan in Istanbul.

The documents have been signed by the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. N. Aliyev and his Turkish colleague Mr. T. Yildiz, SOCAR president Mr. R. Abdullayev and General Manager of “BOTAS” Mr. F. Shenel. “Today one more historic step is taken towards the development of energy cooperation between our companies and brotherly states. The agreements signed today give an opportunity for realization of new large-scale projects comparable to already successfully realized Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline projects” – SOCAR president said after the signing.
