The agreement was signed by Dmitry Kobylkin, Governor of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district, and German Khan, Executive Director of TNK-BP.
The agreement implies cooperation of the parties in the following fields: development of the resource potential for hydrocarbon production, environmental protection, payment of taxes, fulfillment of budgetary obligations, stimulation of investment and innovation projects, development of the economy and social sphere in the autonomous district and its municipalities, and use of subsoil information resources. In the framework of this agreement, TNK-BP will provide financial support to the Purovsky, Tazovsky, and Krasnoselkupsky districts and the city of Novy Urengoi. The company is developing the Russkoe, Russko-Rechenskoe, Suzunskoe, Tagulskoe, Urengoyskoe, and Vostochno-Urengoyskoe oil and gas fields in these districts.
The funds will be used, in particular, for support of indigenous minorities of the North, construction of industrial and social infrastructure facilities, major repairs of the housing stock in the Tazovsky district, implementation of the regional target program “Culture, Language and Traditional Way of Life of Indigenous Minorities of the North,” social support of World War II veterans and home front workers in Novy Urengoi, establishment of an intellectual leisure center and library in Novy Urengoi, purchase of equipment for the Novy Urengoi city hospital, etc.
After signing the agreement, Dmitry Kobylkin said: “We have planned joint development and implementation of 15 important programs. The company will provide substantial financial support for renovating the housing stock. The budgetary funds are not sufficient for improving the dwelling stock and creating decent living conditions. Companies usually participate in development of the territories of their presence and activities. TNK-BP will help in development of the Purovsky and Tazovsky Districts and the city of Novy Urengoi.”
“In the regions of its presence, TNK-BP, as a socially responsible company, is implementing special measures and programs in coordination with local administrations. The most important programs are related to improvement of living standards, construction or repair of buildings and houses, support of veterans, and development of children’s sport. According to requests of local administrations, we also implement local target-oriented financial support programs,” said German Khan.
TNK-BP is actively developing and implementing new projects in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district and the north of Krasnodar territory. The Suzunskoe, Tagulskoe and Russkoe fields are among the next generation of new projects, which at the peak of their implementation may account for approximately a quarter of the company’s production volume. The unique hydrocarbon reserves of Yamal will turn it into one of the largest oil and gas provinces in the world. TNK-BP maintains a constant dialog with other major oil companies and the Government of the Russian Federation to find the most efficient ways for development of fields in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district and the north of Krasnodar territory and create the necessary transport infrastructure.
