SOCAR-TURCAS Joint Venture gets license

The construction works of a new oil refinery by SOCAR-TURCAS Joint Venture in Aliagha region of Izmir (Turkey) moved to a new step. Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) granted a license to SOCAR-TURCAS Joint Venture in this connection.

The Regulatory Authority was applied for license reception on December 2008. SOCAR-TURCAS Executive Manager and member of Petkim Board of Directors Kenan Yavuz expressed his assurance on successful construction of the oil refinery. According to him, the refinery foundation with capacity of 10 mln tons a year will be laid soon. He added that the event will ensure jobs to about 7000-10,000 people, and 1000 people after it’s is put into operation.
