TNK-BP Supports Saratov Region Neighborhood Football Tournament

This is the biggest tournament of its kind in Russia, involving at least 50,000 young footballers from Saratov and neighboring regions and the CIS (with a team from Kazakhstan taking part last year). The tournament’s zonal heats are currently underway, with the finals scheduled for late August – early September.
TNK-BP has supported the Saratov Governor’s Cup children’s regional neighborhood football tournament for the past five years. In just six years, under its Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Saratov Region, the company has donated over 13 million rubles for sports equipment, accommodation, travel, catering for contestants, prizes and other organizational purposes.
“This is the ninth neighborhood football tournament we have run, with around 47,000 boys and 3,000 girls from around the region taking part this year. Thanks to support from TNK-BP, which has been the tournament’s general sponsor for several years running, the kids are given team strips, balls and the opportunity to train, and the company also funds the prizes they win. It’s very important for a socially responsible business to support children’s sport and make a contribution to the physical and moral upbringing of the upcoming generation,” says Valeriy Slepov, Chairman of the Saratov Region Association for Promotion of Football and Chairman of the Saratov Region Union of Manufacturers and Employers.
