The second weekend of the season, held on July 10—11 at the new Nizhegorodskoe Ring track in the city of Nizhniy Novgorod, once again demonstrated the dominance of team captain Mikhail Ukhov. The TNK Racing Team therefore remains the best team in Russia so far, having won all four races in the first two stages of the season.
Ukhov maintained a confident lead throughout both the first and second heats, leaving his competitors with no chance whatsoever. “I’m very pleased with this latest success for the TNK Racing Team. It shows that we’ve started the season on the right track, and that’s how we intend to continue,” he said after the finish.
The TNK Racing Team has therefore not only kept its lead, but extended it in both the individual and team sections of the Russian championship.
“We have the greatest admiration for the TNK Racing Team’s performance and are proud that the results we were seeing during preparations for the Russian championship are being reaffirmed in practice through these wins. We’re also pleased the second stage of the Russian championship was held in Nizhniy Novgorod – a region which we think has enormous growth potential. In the future, TNK-BP aims to take a substantial share of the Nizhniy Novgorod regional fuels market. The company is planning to build a network of TNK-branded service stations selling high-quality fuel, including its proprietary, environmentally friendly Pulsar gasoline. There may also be some BP retail sites. The people with the most to gain from our entry into the region will be the motorists: TNK-BP’s fuels are known for their good quality and environmental performance and the stations offer a high level of service,” believes Amir Feizulin, TNK Vice President, Marketing.
