The winner’s certificate was presented to the company at a meeting of the board of the Saratov Region Chamber of Trade and Industry.
The Golden Mercury business prize was founded in 2002 to develop the Russian economy, provide encouragement to efficient companies and promote the idea of socially responsible business. The contest is run by the Russian Chamber of Trade and Industry with support from the Federation Council and the Ministry of Economic and Regional Development.
The Saratov Oil Refinery produces over 20 types of product, including unleaded gasoline, diesel, all the main grades of fuel oil, bitumens, vacuum gasoil and industrial sulfur. Almost 60% of the plant’s output (mainly vacuum gasoil, fuel oil and diesel) is exported, with 3.7 mln tonnes of products going to external markets in 2009.
