The main topic was the outcome of the first half of 2010 and objectives for the current year.
In his report Aleksey Schukin presented the information about performance indicators of Novovoronezh NPP. For the first half of the current year the electric power production plan has been fulfilled by 101.11%, the electric power supply plan – by 101.73%; the utilization factor of maximum capacity has comprised 90.33%.
The chief engineer paid special attention to the issue of Novovoronezh NPP transfer into the standard functional and organizational management structure which will definitely require resubordination, establishment and renaming of a set of subdivisions and changing of their functions. “The NPP has developed measures for transfer into a new management structure; they are aimed to prevent the loss of functions which provide power units safe operation,” - Aleksey Schukin stressed.
When speaking of the objectives for the second half of the year he stated the importance of a quality and timely performance of repair campaign 2010, since along with scheduled repairs there shall be also implemented a considerable volume of measures aimed at modernization and extension of operating life of power unit No.5.
According to the results of the operational meeting there will be developed the order and elaborated measures made on the basis of comments and suggestions of operating personnel during the discussion of the reports.
Novovoronezh nuclear power plant (Novovoronezh NPP), a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, is one of the oldest enterprises of Russian nuclear power industry. The nuclear power industry history of Russian and some countries of Eastern and Central Europe began since the commissioning of Novovoronezh NPP power unit No.1 in 1964. For more than forty years on Novovoronezh site there has been constructed and commissioned five power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER).
At present the plant operates three power units with total installed capacity of 1,834 mW. Novovoronezh NPP operates two power units with VVER-440/B-179 reactor installations (electric capacity of each reactor is equal to 417 mW) and one power unit with VVER-1000 reactor with capacity of 1,000 mW.
Novovoronezh NPP is a reliable source of electric power. The NPP fully satisfies the needs of Voronezh region consumers. During its operating life Novovoronezh NPP has generated more than 438 billion kWh.
