The cause of the turbine shut-down was the cooling system defect. TG-6 will be put into service after the fault recovery. At present power unit No. 3 capacity is equal to 452 mW.
This event is preliminary classified as a zero level (below the scale) event by the International Nuclear Events Scale (INES), i.e. has no impact on the plant and the personnel safety.
Power units 2 and 4 which according to the dispatch schedule beat the aggregate load of 2017 mW are in operation now. Power unit No. 1 was shut down for scheduled midlife repair on June 3 of the current year.
According to the automated control system data, radiation background in Leningrad NPP territory and 30-km control area does not differ from the natural environmental background.
