TNK-BP is implementing its most significant environmental projects at OJSC Saratov Oil Refinery and the Uvek Oil Depot of OJSC Saratovnefteproduct. Works are underway at the oil refinery for reconstruction of treatment facilities, expansion of the cutoff drainage system, and installation of floating roofs on tanks for minimization of atmospheric emissions. To eliminate environmental risks in the littoral zone of the Volgograd water storage basin, a drainage system is being built in the vicinity of the Uvek Oil Depot. Treatment facilities are being constructed at the Rtischevsk and Novouzensk Oil Depots of OJSC Saratovnefteproduct.
The agreement of cooperation between TNK-BP and the Saratov Region Administration implies financial support of 210 mln rubles for implementation of health, safety and environmental protection measures in 2010. The investments made by TNK-BP in the first half of the year exceeded the scheduled annual level.
