The inspection objectives were: the check of management system compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 International Standard and the ISO 9001-2008 Russian State Standard for electricity production, and evaluation of the management system efficiency.
The inspection check was conducted in work shops and departments of the nuclear power plant. The inspectors were interested in production, management processes and ancillary proceedings as well as in management organization and documentation of the enterprise
According to the group members, during the inspection the plant personnel demonstrated openness, interest and competence. The inspection identified strong points of Rostov NPP quality management.
In accordance with the inspection results the auditors noted the sufficient optimization of management processes and the increase of electric power production of Rostov NPP. Despite the restructuring and reorganization processes, being implemented at the enterprise, the integrity of the quality management system is not broken, vice versa, one may see the general increase in industrial standards.
The inspection result was the confirmation of the conformance certificate.
Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The nuclear power plant is located on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir 13.5 km far from Volgodonsk city. Power Unit No.1 which was put into commercial operation in 2001, has the operated VVER-1000-type (ВВЭР-1000) pressurized water reactor with an installed capacity of 1,000 MW. The physical start-up of Power Unit No 2 with the reactor of the same type was carried out in December, 2009. Power Unit No 2 undergoes the stage of experimental-industrial pilot production. Power Units Nos. 3 and 4 are being constructed.
