"Turboatom" will supply turbines for Nuclear Power plants of Russia

At meeting took part heads and experts of OJSC "Turboatom", OJSC "Nizjegorodskaya engineering company” "Atomenergoproekt" (general contractor of building of Rostov NPP), NNPC "Energoaotm", concern "Rosenergoatom", Rostov NPP, Directorate of single customer, Kharkov institute "Energoporekt", OJSC "United machine constructing plants", institute OJSC "VNIIAM", OJSC "Uralkhimmash", KhIP named after Shevchenko, OJSC "Komplektenergo", OJSC "Rosenergokomplekt" etc.
During meeting members visited workshops of the plant and acquainted with technology of turbine manufacture and also discussed issues of equipment supply for units No 3, 4 Rostov NPP and conditions of creation of joint Ukrainian-Russian power unit of standard design for Nuclear Power Plants for construction in some countries.
Under results of meeting the Minutes of Meeting was signed under this OJSC "Turboatom" will upgrade and supply of equipment for unit No 3 Rostov NPP, it`s under construction. According to General Director OJSC "Turboatom" Victor Subbotin, scope of works includes upgrading of air-gas channels of high and low pressure cylinders as result capacity of turbine set will increase from 1000 MW up to 1160 MW, efficiency and reliability of turbine set will increase. This agreement will be signed before 30 July of current year.
"Turboatom" also will take part in construction of new unit No 4 Rostov NPP. According to Director of OJSC "Nizjegorodskaya engineering company” Atomenergoproekt” (Russia) Valeriy Limarenko, today the decision was made and it was reflected in Minutes of Meeting, OJSC “Turboatom” during month will form and submit to customer commercial offer for turbine set for unit No 4 Rostov NPP. "Today we agreed Rostov – 3 and Rostov – 4 we will bring to capacity 1160 МW, it will be event in area and that means actually we came to another stage of co-operation taking into account economy specifications of new units which under construction at Russian Federation – said Mr. V. Limarenko. He also noted, in the world there are 30 NPP units under construction, 10 of them are in Russia. Now three units of Rostov NPP equipped by “Turboatom`s” turbine equipment.
During meeting Ukrainian and Russian experts continued consultation regarding creation of joint project of unit with capacity 1100 MW on the basis of 392 nuclear set and turbine manufactured by OJSC “Turboatom”. Previously, at the end of June 2010 in Kiev Minutes of Intentions was signed.
Victor Subbotin emphasized it`s a big job and good load for “Turboatom” for nearest decade: "We consider, production of our enterprise is completive and has a good opportunities on power market of Russia". He also informed that the result of meeting is actual signing of contracts for supply of equipment for unit No 3 at amount up to 100 mln. US dollars. It is a significant amount of finance for plant.
Besides parties agreed before 21 August 2010 OJSC "Turboatom" will prepare technical and commercial offer for supply of turbines with capacity 1200 MW for future unit of Nozjegorodskaya NPP in Russia.
