The training was attended by leaders of emergency groups of Bilibino NPP and Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Crisis Centre; Nuclear Plants Emergency Care team (NPEC); experts on radiation safety and protection measures, experts on status control of reactor facilities and process equipment and other specialists.
The training drill of the plant personnel actions was held with the involvement of medical staff of medical unit No. 4, volunteer emergency response teams of civil defense and emergency situations "1 st Fire Emergency Team of Chukotka Atonomous District". The expert groups of VNIIAES OJSC; Taifun Scientific Development and Production Centre; Emergency Centre of Fire Prevention Service; RF National Science Center of Federal State Enterprise; specialists of the Institute of Nuclear Power Safe Development of Russian Academy of Sciences and other organizations were engaged in the training in order to provide technical support. Bilibino NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located next to Bilibino city, in the Chukotka Autonomous District. The nuclear heat and power plant operates four EGP-6 uranium-graphite pressurized tube reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 12MW (el.). The first power unit was commissioned in 1973, the second – in 1974, the third – in 1975, and the fourth one – in 1976. The plant produces about 75% of energy generated in Chaun-Bilibino isolated electricity system (upon that the system provides 40% of energy to the Chukotka Autonomous District).
