Fire teams of the NPP and Novovoronezh city fire department are on duty near the plant round the clock.
Nevertheless, the existing conditions can’t but influence operation of electric power network equipment on the open areas of the NPP and outside its territory. In this connection as well as because of introduction of the state of emergency in some regions of Russia, Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC and Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System OJSC have agreed to ensure effective real-time interaction in the sphere of prevention and elimination of emergency situations at the adjacent network equipment. The respective regulation was approved by the Concern and FGC UES the previous day.
Upon the whole, as of morning of August 4, 22 power units of Russian NPPs operate steadily and safely, 8 are under repair, 1 is in reserve, 1 is in the pilot operation.
Rosenergoatom Concernn OJSC operates all 10 Russian NPP with 31 operating power units, power unit No. 2 of Rostov NPP is in the pilot operation. The majority of the nuclear power plant is situated in the Central part of Russia. In addition, Balakovo NPP is located in the south of the country, Kola and Leningrad plants – in the north-west and Bilibino NPP – in Chukotka.
