Kalinin NPP: the staff has been enlarged by young specialists

The members of the contest committee under the chairmanship of Director of Kalinin NPP Leonid Martynovchenko talked to the graduates of “MEPhI” National Research Nuclear University, Ivanovo State Power Institute, Tomsk Polytechnic University and technical educational institutions of Saint Petersburg, Tver, Konakovo and Bezhetsk.
The decision to work at Kalinin nuclear power plant was well-balanced: some graduates followed the example of their parents, others believe that occupations of the nuclear power industry become more and more popular among the teenagers.
“Today the nuclear power industry is a safe choice”, Natalya Egorova said after the interview. “Young people try to choose the educational institution the graduation from which will help to find a steady job. I’ve made this choice by having entered Ivanovo State Power Institute. I cannot imagine myself to be engaged in other occupation.”

The allocation throughout subdivisions of the nuclear power plant was carried out in accordance with the contest results. Young specialist will join the staff of the by-product-recovery and turbine departments, department of thermal automatic systems and measurement, electrical department, centralized repair department and radiological safety office.

Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated in the north of Tver region in Udomlya district. Kalinin nuclear power plant comprises three operating power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) of 1,000 mW capacity each. Power unit No. 4 is under construction now and is to be commissioned in 2011.
