Kursk NPP: scheduled Fire Emergency and Tactical Exercise will be held on August 24

The exercise will be attended by the fire-fighting units of Kursk city and Kursk district, Kurchatov city and Kurchatov district, Lvov city and Lvov district as well as Oktyabrsk district.
Fire-fighting response techniques will be practiced during the exercise.
The exercise will involve the driving of fire engineering column along the Kursk-Kurchatov-Lvov route, sound alarm application and, possibly, smoke imitation.
During the event, Kursk NPP power units will be operated in the normal mode. There will not be any interruptions in their operation related to the exercise.
Administration of the Kursk NPP addressed the region citizens with request to show calm and understanding.
Such exercises are an integral part of nuclear power plant safe operation. These events are annually held at the Russian nuclear power plants in order to practice the actions aimed at protection of the nuclear plant personnel and the citizens.
