Baltic NPP: nuclear scientists congratulated Sovetsk citizens with the 458th anniversary of the city

The nuclear scientists congratulated Sovetsk citizens with the holiday and took part in its financing. Minister of Municipal Development Mikhail Plyukhin, Minister of Education Natalya Sherri and Regional Duma Deputy, Head of Regional Executive Committee of the “United Russia” party Denis Davydov congratulated the citizens on behalf of the Government of Kaliningrad region.
The holiday has been celebrated for two days. During that time “Luisa” choreographic ensemble, “Rryalitsa” and “Slavyanski Krug” folk ensembles, “Stanitsa” Cossack ensemble, “Tridevyatyi Region” vocal and instrumental ensemble, “Snegurochka” ensemble and “Kuri Bambuk” – a famous Kaliningrad music band - have shown performances at the stages of the city. The performance of the legendary band called “Pesnyary” has become a pleasant surprise.
During the party a solemn ceremony of honoring of distinguished Sovetsk citizens was held. It has already become a tradition. This year – veteran of the Great Patriotic War, first coach of the “Krasnaya Zvezda” football team Petr Burykhin was awarded with this title and added to the list of nine distinguished citizens. There was also held a contest of children paintings, awarding of the winners of the contest on best improvement of the urban district territories in 2010; a waltz evening party with the participation of the “BraasTilsit” brass band. A fireworks display was a fabulous culmination of the holiday.
According to Head of Administration of the Sovetsk Urban District Municipal Unit Viktor Smil’gin, it has been the best festival of late years.
“The holiday was celebrated with the help of financial support of Rosatom State Corporation and Rosenergoatom Concern”, Viktor Smil’gin said. “And it is not the first time when nuclear scientists gave such presents to people living in the vicinity of Baltic NPP, which is under construction. Sovetsk citizens are very grateful to the nuclear scientists and say that “they do not waste words”. We felt that our cities are integrated into a common cultural space. Thank you!”
