Rostov NPP: a starting seminar on development of a long-term activity has been held

A starting seminar on development of a long-term activity of the nuclear power plant was held at Rostov NPP within the framework of the Project of involvement of Rosatom enterprises and organizations into implementation of the strategy of the State Corporation activity until 2020.

Similar seminars, organized by Project Coordination Centre of Rosatom, have been held at almost 40 nuclear industry enterprises. According to the organizers, the main goals of the project are to engage enterprises and organizations into implementation of the strategy of Rosatom State Corporation activity; to develop a united field of planning, activity and reporting procedure in the State Corporation; to provide the enterprises with a uniform understanding of the objectives of Rosatom State Corporation.
A video report of General Director of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko called "On Development Strategy of Rosatom State Corporation until 2020” and a report of Deputy General Director - Director of Nuclear Park Directorate Alexander Lokshin called "Efficient Provision with Electric Power, Produced at NPP, and Products and Services of Nuclear Park" were presented to the participants during the first day of the seminar.
As it was noted in the report of Sergey Kirienko, one of the main goals of Rosatom’s enterprises and organizations was to ensure the efficiency of the nuclear power industry as well as its competitive ability at the international market. “Due to the fact that this market has a very high competition, it is necessary to exert maximum joint efforts in order to gain the best result. All divisions and subdivisions of the State Corporation shall work to achieve the goal within the joint strategy. In a varying degree, the strategy of Rosatom State Corporation refers to each industrial enterprise,” the Head of the nuclear industry said.
In his turn Director of Rostov NPP Alexander Palamarchuk said that a number of company programs aimed at quality improvement of the enterprise and the entire industry general activity, were being introduced at Rostov NPP in order to implement the major objectives, the industry was facing that day. They refer to development of a uniform company policy in terms of upgrading of efficiency, production, economy, human resources training and other priority directions of the strategy.
“Introduction and progressive realization of these programs provide more opportunities for the enterprise in general as well as prospectives for development of each individual employee, creating the atmosphere of economic and social security and involvement into the common activity – development of the nuclear power industry. We realize the significance of the implemented reforms and support the State Corporation policy, aimed at development of the efficient management system. In order to effectively implement the tasks, defined by Rosatom, in the closest time we are to develop our own strategy of the enterprise development within the framework of the company planning field,” Alexander Palamarchuk stressed in his report.
Thus, by means of implementing of its own objectives Rostov NPP is approaching the set common goal which consists in upgrading of production and economic efficiency, entering new markets, competitive ability and other strategic priorities.
After the starting seminar, the specialists of Rostov NPP are given a month to develop a long-term activity program (LTAP) within the Project of involvement of Rosatom’s enterprises and organizations into implementation of the strategy of the State Corporation activity and submit it to the State Corporation. The long-term program shall be developed on the basis of the joint strategy and connect specific objectives with the common goals. The final version of the LTAP shall be submitted by November 15, 2010.
The enterprise shall clearly describe its current activity and plans for the future. In addition, it is necessary to define perspective directions of work which at present are not paid attention to, but have resources and capacities for their realization. The result of the LTAP will be an industry-wide “route map” which will provide an opportunity to control the implementation of programs of each structural subdivision.
Upon that, if Rosatom accepts the expediency of new work directions, they may get additional – financial – motivation for development. Moreover, in future the most advantageous projects can be granted the status of strategic projects of the State Corporation.
