Currently, the interested parties fulfill the obligations in full, which were assumed within intergovernmental agreement (for advance payment for power) in December 2009.
According to the United Power Grid Operator of Central Asia (CDC “Energiya”), water intake in Kazakhstani part of Dostyk Canal was 97 m3/sec (90 m3/sec planned ) during the first ten-day period of August, and 103 m3/sec (80 m3/sec planned) during the second ten-day period of August. Maximum capacity of the canal, which is used for irrigation of cotton plants in the southern regions of Kazakhstan, reaches 110 m3/sec.
In the current season reservoirs of Kyrgyz Republic accumulated sufficient amount of water, which makes it possible to meet the requirements of irrigation water in neighboring countries.
