Second millionth ton of Irkutsk Oil

The Geography of IrOC supplies is quite broad – crude was shipped to Leningrad, Moscow, Smolensk, Tambov, and Saratov regions; Angarsk, Vanino, Ufa, Kirishi, Komsomolsk, Khabarovsk, and Orsk oil refineries have been buyers of the IrOC production. Some years it was even shipped to Mongolia – the Erdenet oil refinery. In 2007, the Company started new export sales to the countries of Asian-Pacific region.
Mr. Sergei Nastobursky, deputy commercial director of the Company, said that the first millionth ton of crude was shipped by railway on October 04, 2008, and it took less than two years to ship the second millionth ton. Most of the shipped crude is produced at the Company’s fields and very little part is purchased from other producers.
For almost ten years, Irkutsk oilmen have been working hard to achieve this remarkable result. IOC was established on November 27, 2000. The company has become the first in Irkutsk region to enter the production stage of field development. It built a 300-km pipeline that allows transporting up to 700,000 tons of oil and gas condensate a year from fields to the terminal in Ust’-Kut.
In the beginning of 2011 it is planned to connect Company’s fields to ESPO and after that most of production will be supplied to this pipeline.
