The conference is an important stage of the project of VVER-TOI (type of computerized optimized), which develops GK "Rosatom" to optimize the existing water-moderated power reactors. In the future, the project "VVER-TOI" will be used for the serial construction of Nuclear Power Plants in Russia and abroad. OJSC ”NIAEP" instructed to carry out a feasibility analysis of products of world leaders and to provide pipe-based proposals for the choice of systems for the VVER-TOI.
"Turboatom" has successful experience in the supply of turbines for Nuclear Power Plants, so this project is interested enterprise. The plant has put about 200 turbines for Nuclear Power Plants, including large capacity, recently commissioned turbines for India's Nuclear Power Plants "Kaiga-3, 4" and "Rajasthan-5, 6."
The conference also addressed the issue of updating the turbine for the block № 3 of the Rostov NPP. OJSC “Turboatom” has proposed to increase turbine capacity through new design solutions for 20 MW, without resorting to reconstruction of the reactor, and then, without changing its parameters. As a result of the updating of the turbine its capacity increases to 1100 MW.
In addition, conference participants discussed the options of building unit № 4 Rostov NPP with a planned capacity of over 1 million kW. OJSC "Turboatom" presented a new low-speed turbine with capacity up to 1200 MW, with the shaft revolutions of 1500 revolutions per minute. Commissioning unit № 4 Rostov NPP is scheduled to the end 2015 - beginning in 2016. Shortly customer intends to select the manufacturer of the turbine and to sign a contract in the first half of 2011.
Event is organized by OJSC "Nizhegorod Engineering Company "Atomenergoproect" ("NIAEP") with the support of OJSC "Concern "Rosenergoatom". The conference was attended by over 100 organizations and enterprises – suppliers of equipment for Nuclear Power Plants from Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, Germany, France and the Czech Republic. These are enterprises specializing in the production of turbine generators, automated process control systems (APCS), power transformers, pumping equipment and armature for NPP.
