ANRE delegation on a working visit to US State Missouri

The visit is part of the partnership program between ANRE, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) from the USA and the Missouri Public Service Commission, which started in June 2010 in Chisinau. The program is financed by the United States agency for International Development (USAID).
The main purpose of the visit of Moldovan delegation is to study the regulatory practices of the energy sector, applied by the Missouri authority. The visit agenda includes a series of meetings and discussions with the American experts regarding current burning issues for ANRE, such as how to regulate renewable energy sector and enhance investments in this sector, how to set differentiated electricity and gas rates, issues of dispute resolution between energy market participants, protection of consumers rights, miniaturization of energy services quality standards, etc.   
On Friday, September 24 the delegation will visit the Hawthorne power plant and the Lost Creek Wind Farm of Kansas City.   
The first activities within the partnership program between NARUC and ANRE, involving Missouri Public Service Commission, were held in Chisinau on June 21-25, 2010. Therewith, a MoU was signed between ANRE, NARUC, the Missouri Public Service Commission and USAID regarding the partnership program activities. This program is a tool for exchanging experience and information between the regulators of the R. Moldova and Missouri, designed to improve the regulatory practices and establish relationships between them.
This is the second partnership program between ANRE and regulatory authority from the USA. The first partnership  - with the Iowa Utility Commission – was held in 2002 – 2004 under the auspices of NARUC and funded by USAID.
