Beloyarsk NPP: veterans of the nuclear power plant visited the BN-800 construction site

The veterans inspected the site of the 4-th power unit under construction and asked the NPP specialists about some issues concerning the facilities being erected, construction technologies and operation of nuclear power plants.
After the excursion Deputy Head of Beloyarsk branch of the inter-regional public organization of veterans of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Anatoly Glazyrin noted: “Construction of BN-800 – is a modern, innovative project developed in view of the BN-600 power unit operation experience. The scope and speed of construction have impressed us greatly. It’s giving us confidence that the work started by the nuclear power plant veterans has good prospects”.
Administration of Beloyarsk NPP-2 under construction keeps in touch with former workers of the nuclear power industry to ensure transfer of valuable experience and intergenerational continuity.
The directorate of Beloyarsk NPP-2 is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC which operates all nuclear power plants of Russia. A BN-800 fast neutron reactor is being erected at the construction site. BN-800 is an important link for the nuclear industry development for the benefit of the country’s economy. The fast neutron power units serve for substantial extension of the fuel base of the nuclear power industry and minimization of radioactive waste due to the closed nuclear fuel cycle.
