The commission consisted of Deputy Director of Inspection and Control Department of Concern NPPs’ Security Assurance Zhirkov O.V. and Kola NPP field personnel.
In accordance with the working program the questions of readiness of personnel, NPP power units equipment, hydraulic engineering structures and heating systems for the autumn-winter peak load operation; as well as issues of maintenance of territories, industrial buildings and structures, technical documentation and transport have been discussed.
In the concluding protocol the commission members noted that the inspection schedule of security important systems was being implemented and working places were provided with documentation in accordance with the approved check-list. In general, the commission has positively evaluated the plant readiness for winter. The commission results are stated in the Inspection Act of plant readiness for operation in 2010-2011 autumn-winter period.
Such inspections are annually held on a scheduled basis at all Russian NPPs. They goal is to check safety and reliability of power units’ operation and stability of electric power generation during the peak load period.
Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated in the north of Tver region in Udomlya district. Kalinin nuclear power plant comprises three operating power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) of 1,000 mW capacity each. Power unit No. 4 is under construction now and is to be commissioned in 2011.
