“Stroygazmontazh” constructed the pipe line under the Saimaa channel

The crossing under the Saimaa channel is executed using the microtunnelling method. The LLC “Stroygazmontazh”’ Contractor for the tunnel erection was the LLC “Tonnelniy otryad-4”, the subdivision of OJSC “Metrostroy”.
The crossing’ length amounted to 250 m with maximum depth - 22 m. The construction of the tunnel was aggravated by unhomogeneous geologic composition of soils in the work area: rocks changed to quicksands and clay. This required modernization of the tunnel shield and installation of special cutting tools. Tunnel construction works continued for three months.
Construction of the linear section of the pipe line under the Saimaa channel was performed by OJSC “Krasnodargazstroy”, being a part of SGM Group of Companies.
In 2009 the LLC “Stroygazmontazh” constructed the passage under the Neva river in the area of Shlisselbourgh under construction of pipe line Gryazovetz-Vyborg. The microtunnelling method was applied during its construction as well.
All construction-installation works for construction of the trunk pipe line Gryazovetz-Vyborg are being carried out by the LLC “Stroygazmontazh” according to the established schedule.
