LNPP is preparing for the Complex Emergency Response Exercise

On October 20-21, 2010 a scheduled Complex Emergency Response Exercise (CERE) will be held at Leningrad NPP. It is aimed at training of actions and examination of personnel preparedness in case of emergency situations, as well as at training of cooperation with involved third-party emergency response structures.

More that 350 people will take part in CERE-2010 organization and performance: in particular, the Commission on Prevention and Relief of Emergency Situations and Fire Safety Assurance, life saving services, facility’s evacuation commission, operating dispatcher service, umpire action team, ME department, Civil Defense and Emergency Situation Department, MCR department and free-lance plant organizations.
In addition LNPP exercise will involve representatives of Russian EMERCOM Central Administration and EMERCOM North-West Regional Centre (emergency group), St. Petersburg Emergency Centre, Research and Rescue Professional Organization of Gazturbo CJSC, responsible for oil spill cleaning, and branches of military unit radiation and chemical reconnaissance.
More than 50 units of special machinery are to be engaged in the exercise.
The exercise will be supervised by Director of Leningrad nuclear power plant V.I.Pereguda.
The actions of operating personnel, engaged in the CERE, which are aimed at handling of a factitious emergency situation at power unit No.1, will be trained at the full-scale simulator of LNPP educational-training centre. The emergency headquarters consists of 40 people.
