Works are conducted within the investment program of JSC FGC UES. In the result of technical upgrading the capacity of the power facility will increase by 125 MVA and will amount 2,058 MVA that will significantly enhance reliability of power supply to customers in Tikhoretsk, Krylovo, Caucasski, Tbilisski, Parvlovsk, Novy Pokrov and Vyselky districts of Krasnodar Territory having population over 700 ths. people, and also provide for technologic connection to the UNEG of new customers in the region. JSC FGC UES investments in the substation reconstruction will total RUR 6.7 bln.
In the course of reconstruction outmoded autotransformer with capacity of 125 MVA will be replaced with advanced analogy. A new transformer will be equipped with primary voltage bushings 220 kV, heat sinks, voltage control devices, automation and cooling system cabinets. Also second and third transformers with aggregate capacity of 480 MVA will be replaced at the substation, autotransformer banks with aggregate capacity of 1,002 MVA will be repaired, new – seventh autotransformer with capacity of 125 MVA will be installed. Also the first in Kuban gas-insulated switchgear and control gear 330 kV will be assembled at the facility, new outdoor switchgears 35, 110, 220 and 500 kV will be built, indoor switchgear 6 and 10 kV will be installed. In addition one-storey building of substation-wide control center with floor area of 9972 sq. m. and two-storey building of substation-wide control center with floor area of 432 sq. m. will be built. The substation reconstruction is planned to be completed in 2017.
Substation 500 kV Tikhoretsk with transformer capacity of 1,933 MVA was put into operation in 1962. The substation is the key power facility connecting Kuban power system with Stavropol power system, Novocherkassk SRPP and Volgodonsk NPP. Reliability of power supply to large regional customers including Tikhoretsk Machine Works named after V.V. Vorocskiy, LLC Tikhoretsk Works “Krasny Molot”, JSC Rosnefteproduct and other depends on smooth operation of this substation.
