Ноября 02, 2010

Alexsey Miller (chairman of the board of Gazprom) and Valery Gulyev (General Manager of Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz) took part in a meeting of Russian and Vietnamese business groups along with the presidents of both countries.

The Russian-Vietnamese business forum concerning the issues surrounding economic collaboration between the two countries took place on 31 October in Hanoi under the chairmanship of Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and the president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Triet.
Viktor Khristenko (Russian Trade and Industry minister), Sergey Shmatko (Minister for Energy), Sergey Kiriyenko (head of Rosatom) and Andrey Kostin (president of VTB Bank), along with other leaders of major Russian and Vietnamese companies, all took part in the round-table meeting.
In his address, Mr. Medvedev particularly discussed Russian and Vietnamese relations in the energy sector. Having mentioned the importance of the signing of an agreement concerning the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Vietnam, the Russian president also confirmed an intention to extend collaboration with Vietnam in the oil-and-gas sector. "We have discussed the creation of new objectives, both on Russian and on Vientamese territory, and also in third countries", he remarked.
At the same time, Phung Dinh Thuc, president of the National Vietnamese Oil-and-Gas Corporation (KNG) PetroVietnam, also noted the special relations between the two countries in the oil-and-gas sector. He stressed that within the scope of collaboration with Gazprom, "great experience in implementing joint projects" had been gained, and expressed the hope that this collaboration would continue further.
