The leaders got up to speed with the progress of the rig-building work and preparations for drilling the exploratory well.
The installation of the drilling rig and erection of auxiliary facilities is currently continuing on the Sarikamysh field. Electrical installation work is being carried out and a helipad is being constructed. Within the scope of preparing for drilling the well, work is being carried out at the same time on the formation of a wellhead cellar.
The development and reconstruction of the 15km-long access road to the drilling site has been completed. There have already been 100 deliveries of equipment along this section of road since work began, including heavy loads.
During the visit, Azim Ibrohim expressed satisfaction with the progress of the preparatory work for drilling the first exploratory well in Tajikistan and noted the importance of collaboration between Russian and Tajik specialists in implementing Gazprom's exploration and prospecting projects on the Republic of Tajikistan's territory.
The country's head geologist also noted the improved quality of the access road, which provides unimpeded access to the drill site for machinery under difficult geological mining conditions.
Mr. Tumanov replied by remarking that the Operator was making its best efforts to ensure a timely start to the second stage of the exploration work – the drilling of the well.
Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz's general drilling contractor is the Orenburgsky Drilling Company. The company is planning to start on drilling the Sakhrinav-1 well in November this year.
The Sarikamysh field is estimated to have the best prospects from all of Gazprom's four licensed areas. Sakhrinav 1 is the deepest well in the Republic of Tajikistan. It is 6,300 metres deep.
Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz, at Gazprom's request, is undertaking the hydrocarbon exploration and prospecting project in Tajikistan.
The company is currently carrying out geological exploration work in 4 areas licensed by Gazprom: the Sarikamysh field (Shakhrinavsky district), the Sargazon field (Dangarinsky district) the Rengan field (Rudaki district), and the West Shokhambari field (Gissarsky district).
