WINGAS: More service for storage customers

For example, it has increased the flexibility of its gas storage services, strengthened the availability of individual capacity bookings, and above all, reduced the minimum booking quantities, which means that it will be much easier for storage customers with smaller capacity requirements to use the WINGAS storage facilities in future. "Our goal was to enhance the products we have already successfully established on the market and align them even more closely to the needs of our customers," Dr. Stephan Dewald, Managing Director of Gas Storage at WINGAS, explained. With a working gas capacity of more than five billion cubic meters, WINGAS is one of the largest natural gas storage facility operators in Europe.  
In addition, WINSTORE®-PRO, an innovative new product for the Haidach storage facility, the largest storage facility in Central Europe on the Austrian-German border, has been now launched. This storage product includes interruptible transport capacities as well as a corresponding back-up service based on financial compensation. "With our new storage services we are offering our customers products that can compete with the intense competition on the storage market," Dewald explained. Individual storage products can now be booked with a minimum term of just one storage day. "This arrangement allows our customers to respond to the market with even more flexibility." WINGAS has also fundamentally changed the billing for short-term storage products - and significant price reductions are now possible for the various products.
Alongside the storage facility in Haidach in Austria, WINGAS runs the largest natural gas storage facility in Western Europe in Rehden in Northern Germany - with a working gas volume of over four billion cubic meters. Additional natural gas storage facilities are currently being built in Great Britain and Germany in order to secure the supply of natural gas in Europe.
