Libyan Delegation Visited TATNEFT

In the course of the visit the NOC of Libya delegation visited a number of divisions and production facilities of the Company, where they were demonstrated modern technologies and equipment applied in TATNEFT. Foreign guests visited the Company’s service centers for well workover operations and in-field maintenance of electric submersible pumping units, inspected the wells equipped with chain driving units, dual well completion and operation units, etc.
The delegation got acquainted with the activities of TatNIPIneft R&D Institute, OOO TNG-Group and the new technologies developed by the scientists and geophysicists of the Company.
The high ranking guests communicated with Libyan specialists who had come for training at Almetyevsk State Petroleum Institute, familiarized with the Personnel Training Center of OAO TATNEFT, which performs training and skills development of workers and employees engaged in crude oil producing and refining branches of the industry, and highly appraised its activity.
After visiting the facilities of OAO TATNEFT, Shukri Mohamed Ghanem, Chairman of NOC of Libya, and his entourage met with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of OAO TATNEFT, in Kazan on October 29 and discussed the implementation of the cooperation agreement of NOC of Libya with the Republic of Tatarstan and TATNEFT Company.
In the framework of the meeting the Parties also considered proposals for enhancing cooperation and exchange of experience between TATNEFT and the National Oil Corporation of Libya in the field of geological exploration, drilling and development and operation of oil fields.
The activities of TATNEFT in Libya are regulated by the Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) for a period of 25 years. The Company's Libyan Branch Office was registered in Tripoli in June 2005. TATNEFT became the first Russian company to enter the oil market of Libya. In October 2005, in the framework of the Second Open International Tender announced by the NOC, TATNEFT signed an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement in Ghedames Area (Block 82-4). During the Third International Tender held in December 2006, the Company won the right to work on three more oil areas in Ghedames and Sirte basins.
TATNEFT performs exploration activities at four areas totaling 18 thousand square kilometers. At present the Company has fulfilled the minimum contractual obligations for the two areas and the works are continued on drilling new prospecting and exploration wells in all contract areas.
