In the course of the working visit the foreign guests visited the plant training division where they were acquainted with power No. 3 simulator and discussed technical questions.
Tavanir’s training center is established for training of specialists employed at thermal power plants but still the interest of the foreign guests to the automatic process control system (APCS) of KNPP power unit No. 3 was not accidental –in the nearest future Iran Ministry of Energy will buy a simulator with the function of computer modeling of a real APCS for thermal power plants. There are no simulators like this in the Iranian training center but the foreign specialists highly appreciated the Russian experience and technologies and took an interest in its training options as well as the supplier and projector of power unit No. APCS – VNIAES OJSC and its affiliated company – ENICO TSO (Scientific Research and Design Association "Simulator Training Systems"). The leading trainers of the KNPP training center demonstrated the work of the simulator to their colleagues, acted out personnel training. The foreign delegation was also interested in power unit No. 2 simulator. In Iran there are many thermal power plants constructed according to less advanced projects.
At the end of the visit Director of Tavanir Energy Company training center Mr. Gudarzihighly appreciated the Russian technology of full-scale simulators creation and expressed a strong desireto develop such simulators for training of Iranian specialists employed at thermal power plants.
Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated in the north of Tver region in Udomlya district. Kalinin nuclear power plant comprises three operating power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) of 1,000 mW capacity each. Power unit No. 4 is under construction now and is to be commissioned in 2011.
