The utilization factor of maximum capacity was equal to 45.22% (the target value being 42.87%).
For the nine months of 2010 NV NPP has generated 10546.7 mln kWh of electric power, The FTS electric power generation plan has been fulfilled by 99.89%; 9807.7 mln kWh of electric power, or 100.4% of the target value were supplied to the energy system. The utilization factor of maximum capacity at Novovoronezh NPP for the nine months of 2010 has amounted to 78.91% (the target value being 78.82%).
No violations of limits and conditions of safe operation of the plant power units were registered in October.
Power units Nos. 3, 4 of NV NPP operated in the standard conditions. In September of 2010 power unit No. 5 was shut down to carry out works aimed at its lifetime extension.
According to the automated control system, the radiation background in the area of Novovoronezh NPP location and in a 30 km control area does not differ from the natural environmental values and corresponds to the long-term natural radiation values typical for this area.
Novovoronezh NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated on the bank of the Don River, 42 km to the south of Voronezh. This is the first NPP in Russia with VVER-type reactors (pressurized water reactors of the vessel type using light pressurized water). Each of the five plant reactors is the main one – a prototype of serial power-producing reactors: power unit No. 1 with the VVER-210 reactor, power unit No. 2 with the VVER-365 reactor, power units Nos. 3, 4 with the VVER-440 reactors and power unit No. 5 with the VVER-1000 reactor.
At present three power units are in operation (power units Nos. 1, 2 were shut down in 1988 and in 1990 respectively).
