The information was provided to journalists by Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Shmatko according to the results of the 11th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
“Russia is confidently and purposefully approaching the leading position in terms of uranium reserves”, he said and added that for more careful analysis of commercial attractiveness of the developing “a thorough feasibility study” was required.
According to the Minister, at present Rosatom State Corporation is working in this direction.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Asadullo Gulomov confirmed in his turn, that Tajikistan was interested in this cooperation. “We’ll cooperate. It’s of the issues discussed by the commission”, he said.
In October Speaker of the RF Federation Council Sergey Mironov declared in Dushanbe that Russia was ready to take part in development and processing of Tajik raw material — uranium and gas in which such companies as InterRAO, Gazprom and others will be engaged.
