Specialists of TNK-BP inspected the performance of the transportation contractors’ truck fleets working at the company’s facilities. Over 200 enterprises were inspected with an overall fleet of more than 16,000 vehicles.
The transportation safety month made it possible to objectively estimate the performance of the transportation contractors of TNK-BP and determine the main priorities of transportation safety for 2011.
The conducted comprehensive inspections demonstrated that the number of drivers trained in defensive driving has increased and the quality of transport maintenance and repair has improved.
The key factors for further improvement of transportation safety in TNK-BP are compliance with the requirements for putting vehicles on the road, additional training of drivers, preparation to winter conditions, and equipment of vehicles with monitoring systems.
TNK-BP will complete equipment of vehicles in its fleet with monitoring systems by the end of Q1 2011, which will optimize the transportation costs and considerably reduce the number of road accidents.
