The contract parties are JSC Atomstroyexport (a company of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM) and Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC). The contract was signed by JSC Atomstroyexport President Dan Belenkiy and JNPC General Manager Jiang Guoyuan.
According to the contract, JSC Atomstroyexport will built 3 and 4 power units of Tianwan NPP to the project similar to that of Phase One: two power units of the Russian design with VVER-1000 reactors of 1060 MWe each. JNPC will design and supply equipment for non-nuclear part of the nuclear power plant.
JSC Atomstroyexport will get a unique experience in building the nuclear power plant in cooperation with the Chinese vendor of low-speed turbines. The parties note that after implementation of this project the Russian-Chinese cooperation will have good prospects for replication in third countries.
Signing of the general contract for construction of Phase Two of Tianwan NPP confirms a high scientific and technical level of the national nuclear power, experience and competences of the Russian designers and suppliers of nuclear power equipment. A new stage of the cooperation of Russia and China in this area creates a good basis for strengthening leading positions of JSC
Atomstroyexport in the competitive market of NPP construction.
