Athlon and E.ON intend to offer this customer segment a complete, competitively priced package consisting of electric vehicles, financing, an individually configured charging infrastructure, and electricity service. Their solutions will make it possible for customers not only to benefit from the low energy costs of electric cars but also to operate a zero-emission, climate-friendly fleet.
“Cross-industry partnerships like this one are what we need to enable e-mobility to compete in a real market,” emphasizes Ruth Werhahn, Head of Mobility@E.ON, the company’s special e-mobility initiative.
“The partnership with E.ON will bring us even closer to achieving our climate-protection targets,” says Athlon Managing Director Ryjan Rutgers. At the start of 2010, Athlon became the first leasing company in Germany to sign the Cleaner Car Contract, pledging to limit the average emissions of its new vehicle fleet for customers and employees to 120 grams of CO2 per kilometer by 2012.
The two companies will offer customers the full range of e-mobility services. Athlon Car Lease Germany will draw on its extensive experience in the leasing business to offer customers attractive financing terms for electric vehicles. E.ON will provide fleet operators with a complete package consisting of expert advice, an individually configured charging infrastructure, and maintenance of this infrastructure during the lease period. The energy supplier already markets a variety of charging systems for residential and business customers in several countries across Europe.
