Tender was held in specialized electronic sector of ETS (Eurasian Trade System) commodity exchange which is a part of Regional Financial Center Almaty (RFCA).
Trade and Transport Company is planning to hold electronic tenders for the amount over 1 bln. 700 mln. KZT till the end of 2010. Due to the electronic way of procurement the time of tender procedure is significantly reduced (the results are received within half an hour); there is no traditional “paper” scheme of tender procedures for potential suppliers. Tender is held in real-time mode and excludes the direct contact between the customers and the suppliers. As a result the customer significantly saves its funds.
In April, 2010, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the rules for electronic tender. Thus, Kazatomprom became the first among the national companies of Kazakhstan that applied the electronic way of commodities and materials procurement to meet the needs of its enterprises, through the mechanism of commodity and raw materials exchange.
