The contract provides for the increase of power export to the People’s Republic of China in 2011 by 20% – up to 1.2 bln kW/h. The document was signed in course of the official visit to Russia of the Wen Jiabao, the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
Within the frames of the agreements achieved between the parties, the supply of power to China in 2009 (from March 1 to December 31) amounted to 854 mln. kW/h. In 2010, the parties plan to export about 1 bln. kW/h.
At present, the power transmission to the territory of the Chinese People’s Republic (not far from the near-border town of Heihe, Heilongjiang province) is carried out via the existing power transmission lines Blagoveschenskaya – Heihe (110 kW) and Blagoveschenskaya – Igun (220 kW). Due to low transfer capacity of these lines, the power transmission volume is currently limited by 1.2 bln kW/h a year. The launch of the new 500 kW power line from Amurskaya substation to the state border with China (scheduled for the early 2012) will enable the partners to increase power export to China from the Russian Federation up to 4.5–5 bln kW/h per year.
