At the celebration party held in Tyumen, the personnel of the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center was congratulated by German Khan, Executive Director of TNK-BP; Bill Schrader, Chief Operating Officer of TNK-BP; Francis Sommer, Executive Vice President, Technology, TNK-BP; and Oleg Chemezov, Director of TNK-BP Sibir.
Research and design works of the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center in geological exploration and field development were and remain one of the most important factors ensuring the long-term success of the company.
Every year specialists of the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center carry out over 120 projects related to development of fields and estimation of reserves. Laboratory studies of core samples and reservoir fluids at the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center provide up to 70% of all geological information on subsoil mineral resources.
Currently, the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center employs 596 highly skilled specialists, including 14 international—level experts in field development, seismic exploration, and modeling, 2 doctors of sciences, and 31 candidate doctors of sciences. The tasks of the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center for the foreseeable future include more than 90% of works for geological exploration and development of 25 major fields of TNK-BP, monitoring, and preparation of recommendations for elimination of production risks, estimation of reserves, geological exploration, utilization of associated petroleum gas, environmental protection, and planning of reserves progression for the coming 5 years.
