DTEK signed contracts with Ukrenergo to access interborder connection grids to export electricity in 2011

DTEK, Ukraine’s leading fuel and energy company, announces that its subsidiaries Vostokenergo (Eastenergo)and PowerTrade have signed contracts with national grids operator Ukrenergo to access interborder connection to export electricity in 2011. In total both companies will pay UAH 201.5 thousand for exporting 1710 MW.

Contracts were signed as a result of auction to purchase rights to access interborder connection grids taking place on 14 of December 2010.
Vostokenergo (Eastenergo) purchased access rights to export 545 MW towards Slovakia, Romania and Hungary, 215 MW –towards Poland, 750 MW – towards Belorussia.
PowerTrade purchased access rights to export 200 MW towards Moldova in 2011.
DTEK is the first private vertically-integrated power company in Ukraine. It is part of the financial and industrial group System Capital Management (SCM). The enterprises of DTEK build up an efficient operational chain of coal production and preparation, electricity generation and distribution.
The coal business of DTEK includes Pavlogradugol (consisting of ten coal mines), Komsomolets Donbassa Mine and five preparation plants.
The power generation business of DTEK is represented by Vostokenergo and the associated Dneproenergo Company, where DTEK owns 47.55%.
Service-Invest, Energougol ENE and the associated Donetskoblenergo Company, where DTEK owns 30,6%,  represent the electricity sales and supply business of DTEK.
DTEK also holds a 39.98% stake in Kievenergo, which provides a full cycle of energy supply to Ukraine’s capital, with a unified process for production, transport and supply of heat and electric energy.
