Putting into operation of an independent power supply source 1 MVA shall enhance reliability of auxiliary power supply system of the substation providing for power energy transit between energy systems of Siberia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Cost of works within the framework of the project amounts to ca. 5 million rubles.
The auxiliary power supply system of the substation is intended for powering automatic relay protection and emergency prevention systems, rectifier and charger units for storage batteries, equipment heaters, communication and lighting systems for the power facility. The Rubtsovskaya 500 kV substation is currently supplied by means of two 630 kVA transformers powered by two 167 MVA automatic transformers.
The decision to increase reliability of the auxiliary power supply system of the substations most significant for power energy transit through Irkutsk – Krasnoyarsk – Khakassia – Kuzbass – Altay line was taken by JSC FGC UES after the accident at Sayano-Shushenskaya HPS. Besides the Altay Territory modern diesel-generators are currently being installed at three more substations located in the Republic of Khakassia, the Kemerovo Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. JSC FGC UES shall invest over 20 million rubles in modernization of the power facilities.
Rubtsovskaya 500 kV substation with 1002 MVA transformer capacity was put into operation in 1975. The substation is one of the key power facilities providing stable connection of power systems of Siberia and the Republic of Kazakhstan and reliable power supply to users in the town of Rubtsovsk with the population of over 150 thousand and the south-western regions of the Altai Territory, where large mining and machine building enterprises are located, including JSC Altaivagon and others.
