Kaluga Turbine Works OJSC has manufactured the first turbine for the Adler TPP

Декабря 24, 2010

Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ OJSC) company, member of Power Machines Group, has manufactured its first 60 MW steam turbine for a combined cycle unit (CCU) being built at the Adler thermal power plant – one of the projects for Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

In August 2009 Power Machines OJSC and TEK Mosenergo OJSC (General construction contractor) signed a contract for procurement of equipment for a 360 MW combined cycle unit to be installed at the Adler TPP. As per this contract Power Machines OJSC supplies two 60 MW steam turbines manufactured by KTZ company and two turbine-generator sets manufactured by Electrosila company which is a branch of Power Machines OJSC. The scope of supply of this power plant engineering company also includes the following equipment by an Italian manufacturer Ansaldo Energia: four gas turbines with generators rated to 65 MW each. According to the contractual obligations the company also sends its specialists to supervise installation of the equipment produced by Power Machines and to provide technical inspection services during installation of the equipment produced by Ansaldo Energia.
Т-48/62 steam turbine for the Adler TPP is designed on a basis of the 64 MW steam turbine built for the Pervomaiskaya CHP-14 in St. Petersburg (KTZ company manufactured and supplied two turbines of this type in 2009). The peculiarity of the Adler turbine is that its design is modified because of the plant’s location in an earthquake prone area.
In September 2010 the Electrosila branch manufactured the second package of turbine-generator equipment for the Adler TPP (the first package was accepted by the Customer in August). Currently KTZ is manufacturing the second steam turbine.
