"It should be noted that the company operates without attracting credit resources and a source of funding for reconstruction are own funds of the plant." In total, for reconstruction of foundry OJSC “Turboatom” will invest about 15 million US dollars.
The main element of modernization of forming part is the replacement of molding equipment and installation of mobile two-armed high-speed continuously working mixer with a capacity of cold-hardening mixture of 30 tons per hour, shake-out grill of vibration table for sealing the form, the regeneration station and pneumatic production of one of the leading companies on foundry equipment market Italian firm IMF. Thus, the molding will be made with cold-hardening of furan resins which are well regenerated without thermal treatment.
Advantage of new facilities that they will work in a closed cycle: forming, casting, casting shake-out, processing sand mixture and then feed it to the molding. A new technique more advanced, economical and environmentally friendly, and due to the high degree of automation of work on it does not require long time training of personnel.
Victor Subbotin said that as a result of this project Turboatom increase the weight of cast billets up to 15 tons, will increase the quality of the casting, automates the manual work up to 80%, and reduces energy costs and reduce waste production through regeneration of sand up to 95%.
The project of re-equipment forming part was developed by Kharkov State Institute of Design Heavy Machinery Plant “Ukrgiprotyazhmash”.
Construction, installation and commissioning of the plant were implemented by shops (Nos. 66, 67, 69, 81), jointly with contractors under the supervision of Italian experts. The total scope of work took 5 months.
The second stage of reconstruction is in re-equipment of retooling cutting area, including gas and heat treatment furnaces. It is also expected replacement of traveler with a capacity increase of up to 15 tons, the installation of the tilting device for tilting of large castings and shot blasting for cleaning of castings. Costs for these purposes will total about 4 million US dollars. Repair work is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2011. Currently old equipment dismantled and there is preparing of foundations.
During last, the third phase of re-equipment of foundry “Turboatom” outlined the replacement of two steel furnaces with a capacity of 10 tons each, and replacement of the ventilation system. As a result, the weight of the finished casting will increase from 10 to 15 tons commissioning of the equipment expected by turns in 2011-2012. Costs at this stage would amount to 5 million US dollars.
At the end of official part there was awarding of employees of the plant. Certificate of Merit of KhRSA was awarded to two employees, appreciation was awarded to three persons, a diploma of Kharkiv City Council received a one person, gratitude - the two, certificates and letters of appreciation of Kharkiv Regional Council awarded three factory workers, Deeds of honour of Frunze District Council - five turbine constructors.
Honorary diplomas were awarded to 14 employees of enterprise; appreciations of General Director were awarded 10 employees.
Shop castings and forgings was built in 1935 - after the commissioning of the Kharkov turbogenerator plant.
