Depth of two girth welds of the shaft 240 and 270 mm, the outer surface was coated more than 300 kg of stainless steel cladding.
“Turboatom`s” obligations include machining the edges of each part of the shaft, welding and heat treatment. Welding and surfacing construction was carried out continuously in three shifts for 20 days at specialized equipment for rotors welding. After welding and heat treatment unit has an ultrasonic depth control of joints, dye penetrant and control of overlaying welding hardness.
In the future the company will produce two more shafts for this Power Plant. Contract for production of the three shafts for Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP was signed in July this year.
Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP named after P.S. Neporozhny (Republic of Khakassia, Russia) – is upper of Yenisei HPP series and one of the biggest in the world: installed capacity - 6,4 million kW, average annual output - 22.8 billion kW/h of electricity. HPP has ten hydraulic units with capacity of 640 MW each.
