As explained by Deputy Head of Engineering Supervision Department of Directorate of Constructed LNPP-2 (a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC) Ramidin Khanzarov, the work at the construction site had been on despite abundant December snow showers. According to him, two or three times a day (or more if necessary) special machines cleared up the driveways and inner roads. Thermal covers were used at the basic sites of concreting.
In particular, a thermal cover was used when concreting the 1st “pour” of the inner containment shell of the reactor building (450 cubic meters of concrete have been laid) and now using the thermal cover the foundation slab of the pumping house of turbine consumers of power unit No. 1 is being prepared for reinforcing.
During December over 630 cubic meters of concrete have been laid into the foundation of checkpoint building No. 1, and 300 cubic meters – into the walls of the physical protection centre building.
Disassembly of the tower crane for construction of evaporating tower No. 1 (from the level of 160 meters the structures have been disassembled to the level of 30 meters) has been also started this month, and now a reinforced concrete frame for evaporating tower sprinkles is being prepared for assembly.
In all 1,800 workers, 50 vehicles and 89 units of special machinery were involved in the schedule work at the construction site of two power units of LNPP-2 in December of 2010.
At present five basic subcontracting organizations are working at LNPP-2: SUS OJSC, Metrostroy OJSC, Titan-2 Concern CJSC, Trust Gidromontazh OJSC, and SK Atomspetsstroy JSC.
